Thanks for reaching out. We are aware of the pole. We've reached out to staff to try and get a timeline. Most light poles in the City are Dominion Energy responsibility, so we report and they handle.

Okay, we'll share with staff to see if there are any options regarding the parking spots. We are trying to install more bike lanes and improve both pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure throughout the City (more bikes=less cars).

Oh--we thought you meant on a bike it took that amount of time. It was definitely an epic rush hour. If that's a standard commute for you, visit & see if there are viable non-car options. By bike: or has the AT 1.

So you are saying that striping was put in place where previously 2 lanes worth of cars could fit informally but now that the bike lanes were installed and the median it’s narrowed it down or at least created just one formal travel lane? Is that accurate?

Would you be willing to provide some more info? A new median was installed during development on the corner and we did add bike lanes as part of repaving, but there were no lane or routing changes.

If the effects of yesterday's traffic crash made you rethink your commute, know that there are non-auto options. Check out this bike map (also has regional maps): Exercise and commuting is the ultimate multi-task & more employors are providing facilities.

Well, we definitely want the intersection to be straight forward in how to use. We'll share this suggestion with staff. They are working on a number of efforts across the City. That's the good news and bad news: lots of opportunities for improvements.

Absolutely. Riding a bike is a great way to multi-task as is the DC way: exercise and commute at the same time. Yesterday was absolutely epic and tragic.

With the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and related regional traffic issues, tonight could be a good night to try out or similar. Or have dinner or run errands before heading home.

Outer loop of I-495 across Wilson Bridge remains closed this evening due to an earlier vehicle fire. There are severe delays on all major routes throughout the region for Metrobus, DASH, and private vehicles. Please use Metrorail if possible and avoid buses and cars this evening.

Cue Alice Cooper, because Schools are Out for Summer! Use the slower pace of summer to try being more mindful as you travel around the City. Let someone cross the street, let another car merge, look in all directions before you enter an intersection.
