I spotted this bull yesterday. He was so engrossed in eating that I was able to slip to within 15 yards of him to capture a couple pics. He is going to be a dandy.

Hiked the beautiful Prescott National Forest yesterday. It was a great hike and a nice escape from the heat of Phoenix! I sat down to enjoy a pond where there was a small waterfall. If only I hadn't left my hiking poles there!

Happy ! On June 14, 1777 the Continental Congress adopted Betsy Ross's design, known as the Stars & Stripes, to become our flag. If you can, take some time today to enjoy the beautiful the USA has to offer. Where will you explore? -mq

As we enter calving season, we would like to remind all our visitors: If you see a baby or deer here at the park, leave them be! Chances are, mom is right around the corner, and she's not going to be real thrilled about all these strangers getting too close to junior.

1pm: Snow? Nope - this time it's hail falling at the S. Rim of Grand Canyon. Good time to stay in your car or indoors until these storms pass. (Image: )

When people come to , they expect to see sun and rock—not clouds and snow! But at 7,000 feet of altitude, snow and rain are more common than you might think. So before you visit here—or any National Park—check the weather and be prepared for the conditions.
