You aren’t compelling them to do anything. They choose to discriminate. They choose to apply or not apply for public funds. They do not have to do any of those things, and they can continue to do those things, or not do them if they want. This is not hard to understand.

Well why don’t you use basic common sense and logic then.

No one is compelling them to discriminate or apply for federal funding. I’ll just keep repeating this simple fact for you. I consider it my public duty.

Never said he was, just said he supports taking stances on policies that allow for discrimination against LGBT folks. He calls it religious freedom and I call it discrimination.

Yeah, so does his voting record, which is more relevant given he is a congressman, not a general, now.

I get tired of certain churches claiming that anti discrimination provisions that come with federal grants will “force” them to shut down. No one is forcing you to discriminate, and no one is forcing you to take federal dollars that people of all faiths paid into.

Just not LGBT folks and others when you support certain churches using their tax dollars to discriminate against them when they are in a time of need.

He is not a general anymore. He is an elected official and I’ll judge him on the laws he prevents or creates, and how they impact our community. Since he voted against VAWA and is now promoting assault awareness - it is a lot of talk and no action in my opinion. Lead by example.

It actually doesn’t do that, but feel free to latch onto red herrings to play to radical anti gay and anti women organizations so you can sleep well at night.
