Getting a decent job after being unemployed or underemployed for many years really sucks. I have to catch up with so much necessary stuff so change is gonna be tight for like a year...glasses, dental work, household stuff, etc 😬😬😬😬😬😬

remind me again about all those good jobs where you do not need some form of higher education? This is why is so important. When we say college, we mean that broadly, not narrowly.

This is a thread. Read this and consider the loss to us ALL. How much human potential goes unrealized because our system is only willing to let SOME students be students first?

Why are we still in Afghanistan? Because the unknown risks of leaving are scarier to politicians than the known risks of staying. That’s it. That’s the whole story.

You know what’s better than white-collar executives donating a slice of their paychecks to hourly workers? Paying them more to begin with.

I know you don’t really want to read this, but yes, you must. As I read it, it reminded me how the dynamics of self & organizational promotion are key to understanding why so many of our biggest public challenges remain unsolved, even stuck.

I mean sure, some people are still working through legal issues that originated in an unwarranted stop and frisk, but like, get over it. Damn. Can’t a billionaire get a second chance in America?

It’s the name the author of Ecclesiastes uses, and he says he was king. It’s unlikely it’s an actual name though, you’re right, and there’s not agreement among scholars on who actually wrote it. It seemed more fun than saying “the author of Ecclesiastes.”

A herd of elephants marched 12 hours to the house of Lawrence Anthony after he died – the man who saved them. They stayed there silent for two days. Exactly one year after his death, to the day, the herd marched to his house again. It is something that science cannot explain.
