"All good art is political! The ones that try hard not to be political are political by saying, We love the status quo..My point is that is has to be both: beautiful and political at the same time. I’m not interested in art that is not in the world" - Rest in Power Ms. Morrison

Thank you to . Just read Song of Solomon last year. My actual reactions: One page in: "This is GOOD." Twenty in: "This is AMAZING." Halfway through: "Toni Morrison should win a NOBEL PRIZE or something!" The end: I was all tears. Genius beyond my understanding.

If Tom Steyer would focus on funding state legislative work, he could flip legislatures in every state with the $$ he's spending, electing lawmakers who'll enact better voting laws and end partisan gerrymandering in the states...

Beautifully said, Henry! There's a great, old, book about this called "Dare the School Build a New Social Order" by George Counts. It takes on this fallacy that education can EVER be ideologically neutral. Since it can't, best to be conscious about choosing an ideology!

Goodreads reviews of THE CHUPACABRAS OF THE RIO GRANDE tend to fall into one 2 camps. A. What a great book and message! I love the respect for the border and its people! B. What?!? Kids don't need to be reading about all this political stuff! Guess what camp is mainly white?
