Absolute nonsense. This is when idiots try to play politics with statistics they do not understand. Completion rate of black students in universities is 53%. The number of students in universities have more than doubled since 1990, meaning the real number is substantively more.

Can be clear and responsible in its reporting. Otherwise it creates confusion & inflames the situation.

Chomsky did not understand SA. Here we do it differently. We appoint untrained political apparatchiks to SOEs, who steal, get played and have no idea what to do,things fall apart, people get angry, they get kicked out, and then without irony they complain about Privatization, & WMC.

3. My final comment: thank you for your assessment of my leadership. I don't mind it & I am sure that there are multiple views about it. But here is some advice, earn your degree, do some work, get some experience, and then call me with your advice on how I should lead. 🙏🏾

2. As for engaging students I was out of town on official business. We manage through a team and the VP and Dean are responsible for engaging students. The student leadership were made aware of this when they were inducted. The VP and Dean engaged students on multiple occasions.

1. The success of a VC is determined not by political spectacle or by satisfying thoughtless politicians. Success is assessed by growing undergrad & Postgrad. output, increasing research, stabilizing finances, transforming demographics. Check the stats on these and then comment.

Next time, have your meeting & engage the registrar before rushing to Twitter making accusations against the university. Act with integrity. Treat others and our public universities the way you want to be treated.

Why deliberately misrepresent? Perhaps, political spectacle? Be careful; don’t believe everything on Twitter. Some are out to deceive.

End of an incredible era. Today my Maropeng – Cradle of Humankind family bid me farewell after almost 12 years at Maropeng. Humbled to have had the opportunity to work with such remarkable people and to have the opportunity to share the magnificent story of what makes us human.
