I want you to know I saw your Tweet for less than a second before the page refreshed and it was hopelessly lost AND I HUNTED YOU DOWN TO “LIKE” IT. Because nuts to Twitter’s rushing-you-past-things.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if there was a meaningful difference between capitalized hashtags and uncapitalized ones, and you have told me there is I will try to capitalize them all from now on (I write alt-text for my images too, now I've discovered that function)

I'm no expert, but given that the first is a self-chosen description and the second historically externally applied by "genteel" White people, I'd go with cultural baggage as a major reason and stick to what people wish to call themselves out of politeness.

i (in a wheelchair) was just trapped *on* forbes ave by one of these robots, only days after their independent roll out. i can tell that as long as they continue to operate, they are going to be a major accessibility and safety issue. [thread]

I heard about this when my eldest started preschool. At first it felt weird, like a Dracula gesture, but now we just do it by habit. Eldest is now a college graduate.

Yesterday a march of striking Chicago teachers and supporters and children marched right in front of our house on our tiny quiet side street. It was magnificent.
