I bet the people taking issues with this tweet are the same people that would refrain from condemning AI phrenology. If you're outraged by my tweet and not AI assisted phrenology, you have misplaced your priorities.

There are a lot more people working on AI phrenology than you can image. Can't help but feel that all the whole computer science/AI field has given us is shit.

This is an excellent thought-provoking thread. Within science you find it in everywhere in various forms from claims of race based IQ differences to AI that "read" emotions off images of faces. They are all cheap talk that come at the expense of historically marginalized groups.

jordan peterson is trending because he is apparently writing another "12 rule for life" which I think warrants a trip down memory lane. THREAD WITH CLIPS revealing him to be a grifter of the highest order, beginning with that time he got destroyed within the span of a few seconds

A bit of both really. You feel you can never achieve the rigor & depth of either school of thought but at the same time such work is subjected to extra scrutiny from both traditions & is rejected/treated as an outsider by both. While you feel its work you're most attached to. :(

All I want to do over the past few years is synthesize complexity science and theories of justice (the CRT kind) but it's been so damn hard...

“Why Won’t Emily Murphy Just Do Her Job?” Because white women chief role is to maintain and breed white supremacy...no surprise here Also, Spot The Pattern Always the hero/victim, never the villain She gets to be cast as someone who has no agency over her actions
