That’s right. Main laptop to the right has work capabilities (VPN etc) and drives center monitors. In left corner is personal Mac Pro (taxes, personal blogging, etc). Laptop on left still in use for contract work. Laptops on right wall are just there as charging station.

I used to have a Herman Miller Aeron. This one is a simpler Staples Hyken. Sturdy, supportive, well-built, not crazy expensive.

This allows me to have lots of light but no glare. The challenge with this room is it’s the only one without ceiling lights, so I need to over-compensate. The lightstrips are really powerful and energy usage is very low.

Philips Hue lightstrips behind the desks, USB LED strips behind the monitors, and a cheap desk lamp with a Philips bulb behind the laptop. Show some sausage-making in part 1:

Actually we joined in May 2014. That's a pretty good run without a single negative support experience, but what a disappointing end to a Friday.

The person pointed me to the status page. I said, yeah, it's all green. Then he posted a screen shot of the announced maintenance for Jan 26th. I told him today was not Jan 26th. Radio silence. End chat. That's my first negative support experience in, what, 4 years?

Hey my sites are down but your status page says everything is great. I'm already working with an engineer but you should update your status page to be truthful.
