Accessibility is necessary for museums. Everyone wants to be able to visit, and will definitely remember the museums that actively extend the invitation to bring them in. Museums are community pillars, no mistake.

That there would be resentment from those not receiving discounts. Made me see the economic stress of those who don't qualify for benefits and led to the library passes and using Groupon discounts. Still a balance to serve all and stay financially stable.

A5: I take the temperature of visitors at the front desk. If we are getting a lot of pushback on pricing, I know there is more economic stress in our community and look for cuts elsewhere b4 a price increase.

Yes! The sponsor for came to me and asked to help. That was the easiest $10,000 in my nonprofit career. They saw how much we were doing and wanted to be a part of it.

program makes the transaction at the front desk very discreet and easy by showing an ebt card that looks like a credit card and we have a sign that many just point to with no words exchanged.

A3: Constant vigilance, a watchful eye on the budget and balancing the health and strength of a nonprofit with serving the community to the utmost. Finding the balance of bringing in enough to operate the museum & be self-sufficient, asking donors/sponsors to help.

A1: At admission started at $5 eleven years ago and increased to $6 in 2015 and $8 in 2018. The cost is reflected in the offerings in the museum, comparable pricing in the area for other family activities and the bottom line cost to run the museum.
