“When the teacher and students can SEE the math in action, they make more connections!” That should be on a t-shirt!!

“Our education system is allergic to change and comfortable with oppression, so if the system is not physically and theoretically pushed to stay in the direction of progress, it will revert back to its obsolete purpose. We cannot go back.” Sooo profound~

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, fellow educators!! You’re rock stars! Received msgs of gratitude fr Ss today, but saved a screenshot of a special unsolicited msg fr 1 on Tues. that moved me to tears. Nice to know at least 1 child is learning despite this unusual situation...💜

So true...When I taught 5th grade, I used to pretend to be a “new” math student that needed my students to teach me the latest concept. I would feign confusion and a need for clarification and they would laugh and correct each other and work super-hard to teach “me.”

Amazed at the various strategies my students are employing to solve their percents problems ( is terrific). There’s power & ownership in having flexibility in math.

Oh okay...well, I was a waitress way back in 95 so obviously any and everything could be different by now. And I don’t live near a PH so my data is likely dated.

Yes, I believe so...the medium has 8 slices and the large has 12 (or at least it did when I worked there back in ‘95😄), so 2 large pizzas would have less slices than 4 mediums. You lucked out👍🏾

He’s right...I scored 40 in a high school loss as a 9th grader...I had a stye on my eye that night too, only one I’ve ever had...that zone/haze makes you feel invincible, if only for a short window of time🏀
