DYK Chestnut-collared Longspur is named for the long claw on its hind toe? Although much of its native grasslands is gone, it can still be found in our Valles Centrales and El Tokio BirdScapes, both are in the Chihuahuan Desert.

Please consider doing what you can to reduce bird collisions. So many die every year from window strikes. Even if they fly away, they often succumb later to injury. There are lots of solutions to reduce them. UV window clings for one.
