My "Aha!" moment on 's post was to think "small" for goals in picture book pitches. Keep it real, so to speak. Got it! Thanks Jocelyn and for helping me reach my own goals!

Going to take another look and apply Jocelyn's "2 words for this, 1 word for that" formula to evaluate what is not necessary in my pitches. Thanks a lot!

Identifying the pieces and laying them all out likes jigsaw puzzle makes more sense than any of the other formulas/tips I have tried! I can’t wait to try this on ALL of my pitches (not just the dead MS). Thank you!

Pitches are so hard! How do you intrigue the reader without asking a question? has given some great advice which will help me with my pitches. One thing I have learnt is there is no need to give character names.

Or title! πŸ’– Also, what helped me see with her great suggestions is if you write a question, just change it to a "must" statement and boom! Ni more question! I'll give an example below: "Dog is lost. Will she ever find her way home or is it too late?" (1/2)
