Russia’s main three ‘quality’ daily newspapers all run the same front page on Monday: “I am/We are Ivan Golunov.” It’s designed to show solidarity with the journalist. And, AFAIK, nothing like this has ever happened before in Russian media.

Also, given how US/UK media constantly reports that there’s no press freedom in Russia, it does put their reaction to the arrest of Julian Assange into some perspective, IMHO.

Calvey was arrested after Meng Wanzhou and Golunov after Assange. Both saved western media from covering their domestic topics with convinient switch to "Russia's regime crimes".

Those are Liberal, anti-government newspapers, Golunov also works for Medusa, anti-government newspaper Its my impression that Russia has more anti-government media sources (many supported from abroad) that pro-government.

And when Vyshinsky was arrested in Ukraine, only RT for him. Ordinary people are surprised - the profession of a journalist is now an indulgence? I wonder what will happen if the investigation proves the charges ?!

I would make inquiry into those making the stunt of this arrest. They are suspicious. If someone is troublesome, you don't make a show of it, you deal with it discreetly.

It’s just after midday in Moscow, and all three newspapers are sold out at newsstands, across the city.
