My boyfriend has no mental illness and it's the weirdest shit. You know what he does when he's tired? Goes to bed. When he's hungry? Eats a snack. When he's drunk? Stops drinking. I don't get it.

just __builtin_unreachable() that thing, also gives the compiler ample opportunities for optimization when encountering a call to sleep() ;)

Then again, if I'm the annozing guy who insists on C4820 or C4626, I might as well add the pragma foo around the relevant includes :)

Ah yeah, just noticed my mistake in the fill example, thanks for pointing that out. I'm still not convinced re: the warnings though, sure /Wall might be overkill but I do see value in enabling e.g. C4820 or C4626 explicitly though.
But yeah: gcc/clang behav is not ideal either

I might be missing something here:
godbolt.org/z/y1DnrI
you have to agree that the amount of warnings here is hardly helpful in catching the actual issue at hand, right?

yes because - oh surprise - the vendor only supplies gcc 4.7 (along with a bag of patches that supposedly apply to the sources)

There's a lot of talk about conference Code of Conduct policies and making sure everyone is aware of it, but I want to talk about one aspect that I haven't heard people talking about. 1/?

Nice!
"Recompressing all packages to zstd with our options yields a total ~0.8% increase in package size on all of our packages combined, but the decompression time for all packages saw a ~1300% speedup."

God, I just had the worst idea.
So I was thinking about how you could document PCBs for repair and other reverse engineers and how best to do that, and maybe making a site just for this...
Then I realized it already exists (at least the code for it)
And it's not where you expect
